FAQ
What is Resveratrol?
Resveratrol is an antioxidant found in many different specific plants, fruits, vegetables and even peanuts. This natural antioxidant is most commonly derived from the skin of grapes and therefore red wine is often referred to when discussing the health benefits of Resveratrol.
Where is Resveratrol found?
Resveratrol is present in a wide variety of plants—of the edible plants, mainly in grapes and peanuts. Red wine is the primary dietary source of resveratrol. Red wine contains much greater amounts of resveratrol than does white wine, since resveratrol is concentrated in the grape skin and the manufacturing process of red wine includes prolonged contact with grape skins. The amount of resveratrol present in specific red wines varies greatly.
Is Resveratrol safe?
Absolutely. There has been no evidence to suggest that there are any side effects associated with resveratrol. Resveratrol has been approved by EPA as non-toxic. It has passed the safety-arm of three human clinical trials. It has been shown to be non-toxic in animal test. Resveratrol has been reviewed for toxicity by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences.
How much Resveratrol should I take?
Since researchers are just beginning to explore the possible benefits of resveratrol, no Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) or tolerable upper limit has been set for this substance.
What is the difference between trans-resveratrol and cis-resveratrol?
Resveratrol is available in two forms…Trans and Cis Resveratrol. Many competitive brands do not list which form they use, however it is extremely important that you know what you’re getting. The form that has been used in all the cardiovascular and longevity studies you have been reading about is Trans-Resveratrol. That’s because this is the most bioactive and clinically beneficial form of Resveratrol, and it’s the only form of Resveratrol used in My Red Wine Pill.
Why is red wine thought to be healthier than white wine?
The concentration of resveratrol in red wine is much higher than in white wine. The main difference between red and white wine is that in production, with red wine the skins and seeds are used in the process, while white wine is mainly prepared from the juice, essentially avoiding the use of skins and seeds.
Can I just drink red wine to get the same benefits of My Red Wine Pill?
While a moderate intake of red wine may protect against heart disease, the optimal amount required to produce this effect is still unknown. Due to the risks involved with drinking alcohol, drinking red wine cannot be recommended as a means of preventing heart disease until more information is known.
Are there any side effects or interactions?
No side effects have been reported with the use of resveratrol. At the time of writing, there were no well-known drug interactions with resveratrol.
Is there any alcohol is My Red Wine Pill?
No, My Red Wine Pill does not contain any alcohol.
